A Guideline on Quarantine Exemption Certificate Application

Although all travelers entering the Republic of Korea are required to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in principle, those who meet the following conditions may apply for quarantine exemption. Those seeking to obtain a quarantine exemption certificate are advised to review the requirements listed below for eligibility.

Please note the following:


 The certificate is valid for one time and only when the person enters the ROK within 7 days following the issuance of the certificate.


 The person will receive a diagnostic test for COVID-19 upon entry into the ROK at a temporary testing site and wait for the result there, which can take up to 2 days. The person will be exempt from quarantine if tested negative.


 The application for quarantine exemption certificate must be submitted before entering the ROK to be processed.


 The issued quarantine exemption certificates should be printed and submitted to quarantine and immigration officers when entering the ROK.
